A large majority of people mistakenly believe that winter tyres are only required when it snows, however winter tyres improve grip and reduce stopping distances from 7° Celsius and below, they can also wear up to 20% less than standard tyres in colder conditions.

Winter tyres significantly improve grip and reduce stopping distances in temperatures below 7° Celsius because, unlike standard tyres, they do not harden due to their make-up of additional natural rubber and complex tread pattern.

This enables winter tyres to maintain better traction in low temperatures, as well as in the wet and on snow, slush and ice, reducing the risk of aquaplaning and improving braking distance.

Their effectiveness can be most evident with stopping distance in snow. Stopping at just 20mph on an icy road can be improved by 11 metres, which is around the length of a bus.

The cost of winter tyres vary depending on the vehicle, as a Mirage will require different tyres to a Shogun. Please ask your local dealer for information on the latest prices.

The optimum conditions for winter tyres are in temperatures of 7° Celsius and below, however winter tyres can be used all year round but may experience higher rates of wear in warmer conditions. The recommended, safest and most economical option is to switch to winter tyres in October and then back to standard tyres in March. An alternative option is to fit all-weather tyres or tyres marked M+S (Mud +Snow). Contact your local Mitsubishi dealership for more information.

The built-in Bluetooth interface system allows safer hands-free operation of a compatible mobile phone whilst driving, employing voice recognition technology and steering wheel-mounted buttons.

The use of bio-diesel can cause damage to unmodified vehicles. Damage caused as a result of using Bio-diesel that does not satisfy all of the following conditions is not covered by a Mitsubishi Motors warranty:

1. The amount of FAME must be below 5% volume.
2. The quality of FAME must conform to the EN14214 standard, and,
3. The quality of diesel fuel after blending FAME must conform to the EN590 standard.

The use of Bio-ethanol as a petrol additive causes damage to unmodified vehicles. All MPI (Multi Point Injection) petrol powered Mitsubishi vehicles can use a maximum of 10% (E10) volume ethanol blended petrol specified EN228. Damage caused as a result of using Bio-ethanol that does not satisfy this condition, is not covered by a Mitsubishi Motors warranty. E10 must not be used in GDI petrol engines or vehicles fitted with carburettors.
